One fine evening I was sitting in a cafe with my friend, sipping tea and having this serious conversation about me taking a plunge into wilderness by trading my 9-5 job for my love for travel. This was the boldest decision I took that evening in my entire life. And now when I look back, I feel glad I took that leap of faith.
It’s been more than 3 years now, I have learnt so many skills while travelling around India. Started as an amateur now I am a skilled Travel Blooger, Photographer, Mountaineer, Fashion Model and the list goes on. Right after I quit my job I did mountaineering courses in 2017 and 2018 from some of the renowned government institutes of India. Started creating content about my travel experiences on instagram and YouTube. I never had a plan for anything, I just embarked on this journey of unknown and things started to happen with the flow. After a year of
travelling on my own savings I got a job in 2019 in a travel company as an Outdoor Expert where I handled the summer Ladakh trips. In my travel career I also got the opportunity to work with Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
Among the wildest things that I have experienced till now, exploring Tsomoriri lake(14,836 ft) in winters (Temp -40) is one of them. The feeling of walking on a frozen lake covered with a blanket of fluffy snow is an unimaginable experience in itself. One reason why this adventure became more special to me is the fact that we were the only ones present there, maybe I and my friends were the only ones walking on the frozen Tsomoriri lake for the first time in that winter season of 2019.
Believe me when I say that the land was deserted as far as our eyes could see. Only the craziest of people will go to a place that is lost in winters having cold so harsh that even your bones can feel it. When Corona paused the world in 2020, I started having second thoughts about my career. It was a terrible time for me. But like they say when one door of opportunity closes another one opens up. It was in 2020 when I tried my hands on fashion modelling. I got featured in fashion magazines. I also took part in a Beard Model Hunt Competition supported by The Man Company and won the title of Mr. Full Beard2020.
Let me close this short story of mine with the quote I read on the internet “ Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life.
