Who were you before you started practicing and how have you changed, evolved, and transformed?
RC: I started my yoga journey on and off when i was 13, so i really do not remember how i was before it. I think it has helped me become more compassionate. It has taught me acceptance. Every one is unique as they are meant to be and our job is to accept them not to question their very existence. I continue to evolve every day as that’s the very nature of humans.
How do you plan to build tuning with all the beginners by being a Yoga Instructor?
RC: By being patient and considerate of who my audience is. Everybody is at a different level with their own limits and expectations from my sessions. I tailor make my instructions to help each and every individual.
What are some medical precautions one must take prior to practicing or joining Yoga class or studio?
RC: Always disclose your medical conditions to the Instructor as they would help with alternatives of asanas that one cannot or should not perform. If one have had any surgeries, they should get the doctor to sign off. Perform advance asanas under supervision. If care is not taken, it might do more harm than good.
Would like to clear some misconceptions about yoga teachers , influencers on Instagram or any other social media ? Please share your experience accordingly
RC: I think people feel that being a female gives an advantage in attracting more audience. I was once told that i got a good following in no time because i was a girl. I feel one should look at the other as an artist or entertainer, appreciate and respect regardless of the gender. Its the efforts that make the difference. We can start by not comparing with others, giving the best we can everyday, to become the best version of ourselves.
Who is your idol when it comes this kind of knowledge ? What we need to learn from them?
RC: It might sound rude, but i do not have any idols. I believe Yoga is very personal. Invest some time in yourself and you will get the answers that you are looking for, from within. It is an experience that can only be felt, no amount of teaching can give you the lesson that your own life can.
Tat Tvam Asi (तत् त्वम् असि) – “That essence “the Existent” are you”.
When the whole universe is inside you, you should not be seeking anything outside of you.
Would you like to recollect some memories of first day as yoga teacher?
RC: My first class was to little children. I would say that was the best experience i had as an Instructor. Children love challenges, they want to learn more and little progress makes them cheerful. I taught them some advance asanas and they all wanted my attention, kept calling my name for me to check if the posture was right. It made me really content to see their focus and dedication in getting the postures correct.
What was the most memorable feedback of your life?
RC: I have so many –
When my teacher told me she wanted me to become an advance asana instructor because i was good at it.
When i saw my parents’ eyes beaming with pride after they saw my work.
When my boyfriend’s mom first accepted and addressed me her “Choti Guruji” .
If you want to give down message to your trollers what it could be?
RC: There is nothing i could say to them. Yoga and meditation has given me the patience to compose myself in such a manner that i don’t feel the need to react to trolls, whose only need is to seek attention.
The deeper issues that makes a person to troll someone can only be addressed by being calm and not by exchange of insults.
What are additional benefits of yoga apart from exercise and activities?
RC: Yoga does not only work on your physical body but impacts at mental, emotional, spiritual and psychological levels. It helps to unfold the layers of inner self. It has multiple therapeutic benefits and helps in tackling a lot of psychosomatic illnesses that are mostly our creation due to stress or anxiety. It is the very beginning of one’s spiritual journey. Yoga is a vast subject and one would discover something new, everyday.
