Food is the solution to your every problem, and perhaps 2020 has been the year where everyone has experienced it while being at home. In the lockdown, where we had nothing to do or nowhere to go, we found our way to the kitchen for our own experiments. And these experiments led to the food trends which went viral on social media and became popular. Let’s have a look at some of those famous dishes/food.
• Dalgona Coffee
The name is derived from a Korean sugar sweet, Dalgona. As soon as the pictures and videos of Dalgona coffee started to float the internet, everyone took an interest in it. It’s a whipped coffee floating above a glass of milk. And soon, it was hitting everyone’s kitchen.
Ramyeon is the Korean style instant noodles, which came into light last year in lockdown. After watching K-dramas, everybody fell in love with Ramyeon, and eventually it became a trend on social media.
Like other lockdown food trends, pancakes took of on social media platforms. It was one of the hottest food trends for breakfast. It’s easy to make and the best part is that it is incomparably tasty & yummy. People shared their different experiments on pancakes on social media.
• Thai Rolled Ice Cream
How do you like your ice cream? Soft served, double scooped on cone or rolled. Thai rolled ice cream is new trend in Asian sweets. It is also known as stir fried ice cream. It is made on a freezing flat metal pan into small rolls with toppings like marshmallow, gummy bears, or hot fudge etc.
• Mug Cake
All of a sudden, mug cakes are everywhere. A simple 2 or 3 ingredients recipe bringing happiness to an individual. It’s a single serving cake mixed and cooked inside a mug in just few minutes. Whether it’s vanilla or chocolate flavour, you can enjoy it all by yourself.
• Pinata Cake
From the last lockdown, everyone has seen a lot of trending cakes. After the ‘Tsunami cake’ or ‘pull-me-up cake’, ‘Pinata cake’ or ‘smash cake’ is trending a lot ever since the Valentine’s day. While people are loving this unique creativity, celebrities are also enjoying it.
• Tortilla Wrap Hack
We are totally loving the food trends that pops up from time to time. The Tortilla wrap hack food trend is worth the hype. You can make it with any food combination, be it cheese potato wrap or chocolate Nutella wrap. And now, you will never make a wrap the same way again.
• Dessert Burger
This was one of the craziest trends that people are still trying it out. We’re already drooling over this beautiful and delicious innovation Melbourne’s food scene- Dessert Burger. If you have a sweet tooth, this one is for you. Between two slices of burger add whatever you like and make it a yummylicious Dessert Burger.
